Wildlife in Copper

The Gallery at Equinox Village is pleased to present coppersmith Bob Dienst, Sr., for a resident-only exhibit September 17th through October 12th. This wildlife theme exhibit will also feature artwork generously on loan from the Pember Museum of Natural History in Granville, New York.

Bob was born in New Jersey and later moved a small town in the Catskill Mountains where his love of the outdoors began. Bob began to explore his artistic skill with copper at the encouragement of his wife, which lead him to create American Image Studio in Granville, New York, featuring sculptures forged from copper, brass and found objects such as branches, antlers and slate. Each piece of the two- or three-dimensional sculptures are cut and assembled by hand. This work exemplifies the dedication to quality and detail that only handcrafted work can achieve.

Sculptures are available in a variety of finishes including burnished, natural or verdigris. Bob’s work varies in size and intended placement – small table top pieces, wall hangings, outdoor sculptures, etc. Large sculptures often incorporate found wood or stone as bases as well. To see more of Bob’s work, please visit Bob Dienst, Coppersmith, on Facebook to link to his American Images Studio web page.
