Kylee Ryan – Associate Executive Director & Wellness

Kylee is the Associate Director & Wellness Coordinator at Equinox Village. She attended Castleton State College and majored in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine. Upon graduation, Kylee worked at the Glens Falls Hospital’s Wellness Center in Glens Falls, NY as an Exercise Physiologist. She worked with all ages, particularly the elderly and cardiac rehab patients to help manage diseases and improve overall health.

Kylee relocated to Chittenden County in Vermont in 2005 and began working at Champlain Valley Area Health Education Center (AHEC) as the Program Coordinator for health care career education. There she created programs for high school students to learn about various health care careers. Five years later, Kylee and her husband moved closer to their families to start their own family. With that move, in 2010 she began to work for Equinox Village as the Activities & Wellness Coordinator.

In 2021 Kylee took on the new role of Associate Executive Director at Equinox Village in addition to her key role as Wellness Coordinator. This added responsibility allowed her to maintain her connections with the residents, while helping them through changes in health and mobility. It also provided Kylee the opportunity to grow and contribute to the administrative side of the community. Her goals continue to be helping residents maintain their independence for as long as possible, and being a support system for residents and family members, all essential elements to successfully aging in place.

Kylee loves being outdoors, camping with her family, exercising and taking in all that Southern Vermont has to offer.

In July 2021, Kylee will be graduating from St. Joseph’s College of Maine with a MBA in Leadership.

Kristen Townslee – Stylist

A native Vermonter, Kristen received her education at MAUHS, graduating in 1984.  Although she was on her way to Albany Business College in the fall, Kristen one day visited a friend who was attending Troy School of Beauty Culture. This visit to cosmetology school would change the trajectory of her life.

Excited to enter a career which involved creativity and working with different people, Kristen became a cosmetologist in 1985. She went to work right away at Wavelengths Salon, and was fortunate enough to have a knowledgeable and supportive mentor during her time there. The fundamentals of hair design as well as work ethic and the importance of customer service were the basis of her years at Wavelength’s. After five years there, Kristen decided to venture out on her own and built Visions Hair Salon in Bennington.

Visions was a successful business, but after 18 years as a sole proprietor, Kristen made a decision to sell the business and enroll in college. She attended CCV and received a degree in Business Management. This invaluable life experience was very useful when Kristen bought her second hair salon in 2011, Head to Toe.

Currently, Kristen is splitting her time between Equinox Village and Head to Toe. She is looking forward to meeting new people and sharing her experiences and abilities with the people at Equinox Village, as well as the outside community.

Kristen lives in Shaftsbury with her fiancée and two feline friends, and is excited to become a first time grandmother this summer. She has always enjoyed working with people and knows the importance of how the right cut, color, or highlight can make a person’s confidence soar.

For a consultation or appointment, please contact Kristen at (802) 688-3080 or kristentowslee@yahoo.com.
