Tom Atkins is a poet, artist, photographer and writer based in West Pawlet, Vermont. A transplant from Virginia, his work has appeared in galleries, public spaces, magazines, books, trade publications, marketing materials, and in many private collections.
From his studio at the Mettowee River Meeting House, Atkins paints in both watercolor and oil and has a photography studio for portraits. “I am primarily a poet and unabashedly abstract artist.” says Atkins. “The challenge is to take line and color, creating art that is abstract, yet tells stories and evokes emotion. It is, I have learned, intensely personal to the viewer.”
