Previous Press Release:
Equinox Village will be the location for a monthly Community Grief Support Group, sponsored by the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region. This will be facilitated by the Melissa O’Brien, Chaplain for the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region. Melissa holds a Masters of Education from the University of Vermont and is in the process of completing a Masters in Pastoral Care at Fordham School of Religion. She is also the newly appointed Pastor of the Peru Congregational Church. The Grief Support Group will be held on the last Monday of every month at 4 p.m., starting Monday, March 30. This is a non-denominational, non-proselytizing support group meant for those feeling pain from the diagnosis or death of a loved one, or other sudden life change.
Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for exploration of the changes brought to our lives by illness and death. We request that what takes place in the group stays within the group, and that this will be a safe and non-judgmental space. Everyone will be given the opportunity to speak if they choose. Prayer will be used as heartfelt, meaningful way to process feelings, but does not need to correlate with one’s religious beliefs.
This group is free and open to the public. If you have any questions, please contact Kylee Ryan, Wellness Director at Equinox Village, at email@example.com or by calling (802) 362-4061.
